Evangelization on Wheels - Seminarian Seekholiness Bike Tour in the Columbus Diocese May 16-20

seminarian bike tour columbus diocese 2011Columbus, Ohio -- Columbus Diocese seminarians and priests will be riding their bikes through the Diocese from Logan through the greater Columbus Metropolitan area and ending at Mount Vernon, Ohio the week of May 16 to 20. The seminarians and priests will meet with the youth in their schools and talk about Vocations and discerning God's call in their lives.

This is the third annual Bike Tour sponsored by the Diocesan Vocations Office. Columbus seminarians will ride their bikes, along with Fr. David Sizemore, Pastor at St. John Neumann, Sunbury, and Fr. Jim Klima, pastor at Seton Parish, Pickerington. The Tour is sponsored by the Office of Vocations and Fr. Paul Noble, Vocations Director.
The seminarians look forward to fellowship, evangelization, the challenge of cycling, and the opportunity to spend time with youth, pastors and parishioners in the diocese after finishing their school year at the Pontifical College Josephinum. The Bike Tour team will cycle about 40 miles a day.

The All-States-in-Life Ride which is open to priests, religious and laity to join the men for a one to two mile casual ride on a park trail in Westerville. The group will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at the St. Paul School front parking lot.
Following the casual ride, seminarians will cycle to Mt. Vernon to speak to the youth at St. Vincent de Paul school and end with a closing celebration.

Bike Tour Schedule:
May 16 - Small group visits students at St. John in Logan and they cycle to Lancaster.
May 17
- Morning visit with students at St. Mary, St.Bernadette and William Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster.
May 17 - Cycling from Lancaster to Reynoldsburg.
May 18 - Morning visit with students at St. Pius X in Reynoldsburg.
May 18 - Travel to and speaking with youth at these Columbus parishes: St. Catherine, All Saints Academy, Holy Spirit and St. Mary German Village.
May 18 - Prayer and photos at St. Joseph Cathedral.
May 19 - Cycling and speaking with youth at these Columbus parishes: Immaculate Conception to St James the Less to St. Francis DeSales High School.
May 19 - Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral (approx. 2 p.m.) May 20 - Morning visit with students at St. Paul in Westerville.
May 20 - 9:30 a.m. Cycle with the Sems casual one to two mile ride on the Westerville bike trail; public welcome. Meet at McNamara Park in Westerville.
May 20 - Cycling from Westerville to speak to the youth at St. Vincent de Paul in Mount Vernon.
May 20 - Closing evening celebration at St. Vincent de Paul.
